Driving back Home

Missouri Trip Home

The kids asleep earlier in the week. A few days later going through Nebraska and Wyoming snow drifts, icy roads and 14-degree weather. We have enjoyed borrowing my parent's minivan for these trips.

Missouri Findings

Missouri Findings

The kids had a blast finding neat things, playing in the never-ending yard and loving the cats too much. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Revis often and enjoyed the yard and cousins.
Jacob LOVED the kitty. We found a toad, a walking stick, a monster daddy-long-leg, fossils, Grandma's huge gord's in her garden, listened to a bull moo and played ball in the yard. One rainy day we got 6 inches of rain. We visited the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield.

Cousin Amber's Wedding

We traveled over night 22 hours and made it for a wedding the following day for Lane's cousin. It was a lot of fun. A country wedding outside by the river. Riding on hay bale's through fields and mud to reach the river bed. Her brother, Andy, gave her away and they said their vows, cut and ate cake and pop, had family pictures and got in a boat and floated down the river where they'd stay the night in a tent before heading to Arkansas for their honeymoon. The kids had fun with the goodies, bubbles and were a magnet to the river. Lane was able to see friends he hadn't seen in over 10 years.

Kids Funny Sayings and Things

I've never been fed cheerios by a 2-year old with a barbie-sized spatula and pie tin. I laughed so hard I could barely eat them and he was so serious to get them in my mouth. oooh! Heavenly Father knew these kids would love me!

He was also being a big helper with Kimmie. I was looking up doctor's online and they were out husking the corn cobs. Well, Kimmie brought in the corn that was done in a clear container and Jacob dragged the kitchen garbage back into the house and 1/2 way down the stairs before it dumped all over. Husks, paper plates, food scraps, corn hair/silk, and ketchup and mustard opened packets-yuck, but I laughed so hard because he was being so good to show me what they did to the husks.

Kimmie said, "Jacob! Are you hot?" puts down a sheet to play on "are you cold?" he says no, both times...."Are you a pea in a pot 9 days old?" I'm laughing so hard writing this my eyes are watering.

Something I heard on t.v. that struck me funny, a black girl said, talking about white people, "When you're born you're pink, when you grow up you're white, when you're sick you're green, when you're in the sun you turn red and when you're cold you're blue and when you die, you're purple....and you call ME colored!"

My mom had a note that said, "If you don't have self-discipline, you need some 'Motha' discipline."

I was Tired of waiting for success, so I went ahead without it.

Here are some funny things Kimmie has said:
"What's the opposite? Left (I said Right)Up (down)Back? Forth"

"Momma! You're beautiful. (Oh, thank you) I want make up (You're funny) You're stinky."

"I'm gonna be a sunshine so I'll melt Grandma's heart."

Kimmie came in w/sand all over her hands and said, "I need to wash my hands." I said well I was going to go pull weeds in front if she wanted to come with me and help. "Yeah, let me wash my hands so I don't get sand all over the weeds." Doy!

Oh My! Old photos

MISC. PICS

Various photos of my siblings and me at different stages of our lives. Three pictures of Lane are in the diaper only (looks just like our son, now), with the raggedy ann dolls, and the obvious-blue outfit, which he had for a few years after we were married.

AUGUST 2009

My niece turned 1-yr. old! She's a doll and so fun to play with. We celebrated her birthday with a mini angel food cake. You can see her cousin had as much fun, or more, than she did.
Then pics of the final days of good weather in our yard. The kids eating popsicle's and playing in the front yard. My butterfly bush finally bloomed this year. I've had it about 4 years. My crepe myrtle tree also finally got flowers. I thought I killed it. I love it. (It's really more like a bush)

JULY 2009

A few days after we got back from Disneyland I took a 3-hour trip up to Idaho Falls to stay with my best friend, Heidi, and her kids for 4 days. It was such a nice break and very restful. I'm glad to have her closer and not in New York! I saw her mom and other cousins also came to stay from St. George. We had 11 kids to take to church. I took a trip to Rexburg, where my dad grew up. Took a picture of the house that he lived in and where my grandparents raised their kids. I also visited my cousin's wife and kids and another good friend, Tami and her husband Phil and their 2 daughters.

June 5, 2009 OQUIRRH TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE

We went with our good friends Dane and Cindy and his brother John and their daughter Arianna. It is beautiful inside, just like all the others. It was so windy that day. And of course, the kids enjoyed the cookies and water.
My parents and my brother came with us also.

May and Hair

What Spring is all about. Jacob decided one day to go out and pick every flower he could see. So I decided to cut all of them in the backyard before he beheaded them all. He's sharing with Kimmie. She planted this section of flowers.

My mom and sister pulled my hair through this cap with crochet hooks. It took hours! I feel bad for them.

Disneyland Trip 1st Day-Newport Beach

After leaving at 4am we arrived at Newport Beach at a condo around 6pm to eat, play at the beach and crash to prepare for the next 2 crazy days in Disneyland. We brought Uncle Paul (my brother) with us. It was a lot of fun to have him come with us. We left Jacob with Grandma and Grandpa Muir.
